Lighthouse Christian Center, C.O.G.I.C. was established on February 11, 1994, at the home of Elder Sam and Mother Beverley Jones in Carson, California.
A meeting was called to order with approximately 20 individuals in attendance. Pastor Sam expressed the command of which God had given him to establish/pastor a new church. After which he stated that the name of the church would be Lighthouse Christian Center. Pastor Sam shared his vision and desire to teach the doctrine of God and guide individuals to nurture their spiritual relationships with God through Jesus Christ. Pastor’s desire was for everyone to grow spiritually, socially, and economically. Pastor Sam then appointed Michael Heisser as Associate Pastor of Lighthouse Christian Center.
Pastor Sam asked that all believers of his vision to join Lighthouse Christian Center. Mother Beverley Jones and eight additional individuals were then considered the founding members.
The first Sunday worship service was on February 27, 1994, at North Long Beach Christian Center Church, Long Beach, California. The church has since relocated and purchased our current location at 180 E. 57th Street, Long Beach, California.
Pastor Sam retired from the pastorship in 2008 and appointed Elder James Morales as interim Pastor. Pastor James retired from the pastorship on December 31, 2020. Our founder, Pastor Sam Jones remained a dedicated leader until his death on November 18, 2021.
Upon Pastor James’ retirement, Pastor Adrienne DeVonne Jones was officially appointed as pastor on March 18, 2022, and remains a dedicated and caring leader fulfilling God’s call and the legacy of her father, Pastor Sam Jones.

Pastor Adrienne has partnered with The Los Angeles County Sheriff Departments’ VIDA Program by speaking to youth who are challenged in various areas of their lives. Pastor Adrienne is also a licensed Evangelist through the Church of God in Christ and is an appointed pastor by the Southern California Evangelistic Ecclesiastical State Jurisdiction. She is also a member of the Long Beach Ministers Alliance where she collaborates with other Pastors and Clergy to assist in building a faith-based support for the city. Pastor Adrienne is a proud member of the Female Leaders in Ministry and the Market Place (FLIM), networking with women across the United States to encourage, empowerment to fulfill the call of God through other female leaders.
Pastor Adrienne has a passion for people, looking beyond the faults of individuals and seeing the needs of those who are deemed “unlovable.” She is blessed with the gift of listening and finds the value in all of God’s children. She meets them where they are and assists in bringing them to their next level of fulfilling God’s purpose in their lives.
Pastor Adrienne is fulfilling the legacy of her father, Pastor Sam Jones, the founder of this great ministry at Lighthouse Christian Center Church. As Pastor, her mission is to preach, teach and reach the church members, the community, and the world through the knowledge of Jesus Christ and His mission.

Our Beliefs

Our Pastor
Pastor Adrienne DeVonne Jones, Carson, California native, is a mother of two adult children and her greatest joy is that of being a grandmother. She received her BA in Christian Ministry from Facultad De Teologia International in Montebello, California and MDIV from Azusa Pacific University. Pastor Adrienne is the CEO of a Nonprofit organization called Partners of Divine Success Inc. (P.O.D.S), an organization that assist with fulfilling goals by means of mentoring, teaching, and networking. P.O.D.S.’ mission is to empower individuals to accomplish their God-given desires, dreams, and passions.
